BCCMA Level 2 Coaching Courses.
Coaching qualifications are becoming increasingly important in the present political climate. What is more, our insurers now insist on all coaches possessing a qualification in order to validate their public indemnity insurance – in other words your instructor’s insurance may not be valid if you do not have one of these coaching qualifications. The courses cover a lot of the legal requirements on a coach, safety, important elements of teaching and a lot more.
The level 2 qualification qualifies you to teach a class independently and is particularly useful.
The level 1 qualification qualifies you as an assistant instructor who can teach classes under the supervision of an instructor and is particularly appropriate for those just starting out as instructors.
They are certainly worth having for anyone running a class or intending to do so.
The courses take one day, including a short practical test. The level of qualification awarded (ie level 1 or 2) will be determined according to your performance on the day.
I will be running courses on Sunday February 12th and Sunday May 20th from 9.30am to 5.00pm at:
Martial Arts Centre Alexandra Park Alexandra Rd Epsom Surrey KT17 4BU
Directions: http://www.martialartsepsom.co.uk/Directions.php
With a view to improving its service to its members, the BCCMA has decided to waive payment for the courses for the time being, ie the courses are now free! This arrangement may not last indefinitely so you are advised to book on to a course as soon as possible.
To book a place, email me, Iain Armstrong, at eyeofthestorm@hotmail.co.uk specifying which date you require.
The following rules apply: • Bookings will be taken on a first come, first served basis. Once all 20 places have been taken the course is full. • All participants must be BCCMA members and will be required to show their BCCMA membership card (license) when attending. If you wish me to obtain BCCMA membership for you, please send a cheque for £10.00, made payable to ‘Nam Yang’, to the above address. • Only one free place per person: if you book a place and then do not turn up, you will be asked to pay for the course next time. A week’s notice of cancellation is acceptable. • Permission from the head of your association is required for you to attend a coaching course.
Iain Armstrong, BCCMA executive member.
